This video will show the various ways the Raspberry Pi and Portsdown software can be used.
It will have adverts!!! ( It helps pay for the web space )

Hi Keith,
I will be making some more videos to follow. I will make one on programming a SD memory card using the information from BATC. Also one on controlling the Raspberry Pi from the Windows interface and putty. There is a trick to get the interface back when you lose it. I will also explain vMix and streaming to the RPi and the HDMI to Composite video interface.
The Lime will work if connected to the RPi directly but it is not recommended. They say it is mechanically fragile. The filter goes on the output of the Lime before the PA.
The power and USB extension I used is

Not cheap but no RPi PSU needed either.

Once you have the Lime working you are only a short way away from working Oscar 100 as well as 437MHz. You have the space for a large dish which makes it easy.

Then you need to make a poty feed and get a 2.4GHz PA which is easier than you think as it s WiFi frequency.

Back to your Lime. If you carefully plug it into the RPi and an aerial connected (you will need some SMA connector leads – these come with and without pins! – and some converters ) This will probably work across the shack. This will allow you to get a feel of the different modes and sampling rates you can use as well as frequency ranges.

Here is a further video to show a few more things that may be useful to new users.

There will be more videos as questions are asked and I remember other points. I will put more on g8lce.com when I have time.
